Residential trips have become an essential part of education in recent years, with their benefits being recognised and appreciated by teachers and parents alike. Such trips liberate learning from the confined classroom and allow pupils to step outside the classroom and immerse themselves in society and environments. It transforms learning from the tedious input of knowledge to an exciting and vivid practice.

Last week, Wellington College Hangzhou launched an unprecedented trips programme, providing pupils with unique experiences to help them grow, learn, and develop into well-rounded talents.

Arranging trips during the mid-term period is incredibly important as it provides pupils with the opportunity to step beyond textbooks, to observe and experience the knowledge they have learnt in a tangible and vivid manner. This not only makes their learning more practical and engaging but can also effectively alleviate the academic pressure that may arise midway through the term. Pupils can find the perfect balance between academia and practical experience, pressure, relaxation, independence, and collaboration, which is greatly beneficial to their overall development.

Wellington College Hangzhou's vision aims to inspire children by offering transformative residential trips that support their development as Learners, Connectors, and Changemakers.  These trips provide real-life learning experiences, language development, personal growth and resilience challenges, cultural exchange, and global citizenship, shaping well-rounded future leaders as well as creating unforgettable memories.

Follow us as we take a retrospective look at the exciting trips to eight countries and fourteen cities.
