Mr. Conrad Botha is an early years educator from South Africa, holding a Bachelors of Business from the University of South Africa as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a Master of Education from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He started his international education journey over 10 years ago, working in various international and bi-lingual early years settings in China. During this time, he has used experiential learning through a relationship-driven environment which provided rich and meaningful bi-lingual experiences to support children in developing their unique approaches to learning. He began as a teacher but soon moved up to take the position of Curriculum Coordinator and Campus Manager for a leading bi-lingual network of schools in Shanghai. He thoroughly enjoyed this role which allowed him to advocate best practice and ensure quality learning within a caring and supportive environment. Conrad continued his studies to enhance his knowledge and skills, completing a Master of Education, whilst being employed at a British International School in Shanghai. Conrad then moved on to support the expansion of an education group, overseeing the successful opening of two new campuses as Academic Director. This involved combining best practice from the UK with that of the Chinese Ministry of Education as well as recruitment, the strategic management of the project and mentoring opportunities with fellow school leaders. The role further allowed him to continue to promote quality learning environments and experiences for families, ensuring that children, parents and educators built a sense of ‘belonging’ and ‘enthusiasm’ for bi-lingual early years education. Under his care, the school grew tremendously with strong enrolment, a quality program and a diverse learning community. Conrad now brings his experience and strong knowledge of bi-lingual education to Huili Nursery Hangzhou. He embraces a collaborative leadership approach and is motivated to work alongside all learning community members at the nursery as it seeks to reaffirm its reputation as a centre of excellence in early years education. He believes in lifelong learning and thrives on ongoing research. Conrad has a personal interest in bi-lingual education and values open communication as a tool to build trusting and respectful relationships with others.
