Patty Sun graduated from the University of Bristol, majored in Education (Teaching and Learning) and got a Master degree in the UK. During her study time, she particularly enjoyed the research elements of her course with a focus on the relationship between teaching and learning. She achieved Grade As in three of her academic dissertations. She gained work experience as a Chinese teacher at international schools in the Philippines and Thailand.
In 2014, she was selected by the Chinese government to teach Mandarin in Liverpool, UK. She taught over 500 students during her time in the UK, with two of her A-level students being admitted for a BA degree in Chinese Studies at the University of Newcastle and the University of Chester. Haomeng started to play the electronic organ and practice dancing when she was young. She has also played the cucurbit flute since she started working. Currently, she is learning the ukulele, and does yoga to relax
