Sarah Elizabeth Wood

Sarah graduated with a Zoology Degree  from Newcastle University. After completing her undergraduate degree, Sarah gained experience working as a graduate at a top preparatory school in Shropshire. She then went on to complete a Schools Direct teacher training course with Edge Hill University. She gained two years teaching experience working at a top Catholic independent school in Manchester before moving to Qatar to start her international teaching career. Sarah is a secondary teacher specialising in Science and has experience of teaching Biology up to A-Level. Her passion for conservation drives her love of educating the future generations about the impact of their actions on the environment. Sarah believes that teaching science gives her an opportunity to introduce younger students to the wonders of Science and help instill a love of Science at a young age. As a teacher Sarah is always looking to improve her pedagogy and trying new things to help challenge pupils and expose them to a variety of different activities to keep them stimulated and motivated. Sarah has always been a sports enthusiast, having represented her county in both Hockey and Cricket. She has also coached many sports, including co-coaching her U13 and U15 Cricket teams to the Lady Taverners indoor final, which took place at Lords Cricket ground. Extra-curricular activities are an important aspect of helping pupils to become the best versions of themselves. Exposure to a wide range of activities can foster a love for a new sport or hobby which may help them develop vital social and life skills.
