Emily graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in French studies. This included a year living in Normandy, France, teaching English as a foreign language. In 2010, she completed a PGCE in French and Spanish at the University of Exeter and began her teaching career at Windsor Girls’ School in Berkshire. In the past 8 years, Emily has been a Subject Leader and KS5 Lead for French at Charters School, an outstanding 11-18 mixed school in Ascot, Berkshire. Throughout this time, she has mentored and guided MFL students through their university applications with many of those to Oxbridge.
More recently, her role evolved to working within the Sixth Form leadership team providing academic and pastoral support. She has extensive experience in writing university references and advising students across the curriculum and ability spectrum. Aside from teaching, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading and learning new languages. She is eager to explore Hangzhou and the rest of China with her husband, Robert, and daughter, Gabi. Emily is looking forward to guiding our students to their exciting and bright futures at higher education institutions all over the world.
