Following a degree in Leisure studies in 1996, Robert went on to complete his PGCE in PE at De Montfort University and has over 22 years of experience teaching at outstanding schools in the UK. From 2001, Robert worked at Charters School in Ascot, Berkshire. During his time there, he progressed from an Advanced Skills Teacher to Senior Teacher in charge of whole school teaching and learning. Consequently, Robert was invited to deliver lectures to PGCE students at the University of Reading as part of their training programme. In his latest role as Assistant Headteacher, he has been responsible for raising standards of performance at KS4 and has managed a variety of faculties across the school including Creative Arts, Humanities, Business and Vocational Studies. He also served for four years as a staff Trustee on the school’s governing body. As an avid sportsman, Robert has coached and played basketball at Wellington College, Crowthorne, UK and coached the Under 18s Berkshire Schools’ County Football team. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the cinema, keeping fit and spending time with his family. Having travelled extensively across America, Africa, Australasia and Europe, he is excited about the prospect of exploring China and the Far East. Robert shares the Wellinton drive to achieve consistently outstanding student outcomes but also a commitment to producing well-rounded individuals who have a strong moral compass and are prepared for higher education and employment. He is eager to play a pivotal role in the future of Huili School Hangzhou and drive the high standards that will propel young Huili pupils on to greatness.
