At the start of a new school year, many parents have questions on their minds:

For families who were unable to attend the school open day last December, what other opportunities are available to learn about Wellington College Hangzhou campus?

Register now for the first HSH Open Day of 2024. With several grades already at capacity, we have limited availability, offering only 50 places for this exclusive event. This day presents a unique opportunity for families interested in joining Huili School Hangzhou to engage directly with the Heads of the Primary and Junior High, interact with specialist subject teachers, and participate in an interactive in-depth campus tour.

At Wellington College Hangzhou, we are committed to providing an excellent educational environment and supporting pupils to achieve outstanding exam results on a global scale. We understand the importance of academic excellence and continuously optimise our educational mode to improve the teaching quality and offer pupils a more diversified and personalised learning experience.

In last IGCSE exams, the overall A* rate of our pupils is an impressive 40.6% and an A*/A rate is also high at 64.8%. It is noteworthy that the coveted A* is exclusively awarded to the top 5% of exam-takers worldwide, our pupils have effortlessly surpassed the global average. Our pupil Ryan also received the highest score for IGCSE double science in China!

Kathryn Richardson, Master of Wellington College Hangzhou, will present a general introduction to the Wellington family.

Ivey Wang, Principal of Wellington College Hangzhou, will introduce the educational ethos of Huili Nursery Hangzhou and Huili School Hangzhou.

10:00-11:30 Campus tour

Experience the excellent campus environment and state-of-the-art school facilities. There will also be mini-lessons available for Junior High.

11:30-12:00 Refreshments and Q&A session

Kathryn Richardson

Master of Wellington College Hangzhou

Ms Kathryn Richardson, Master of Wellington College Hangzhou, holds a bachelor's degree in education, specialising in maths and science. In addition to this, she has a master's degree in educational leadership and management and is also a qualified facilitator for the National Qualifications of Middle and Senior Leadership.

Kathryn is an accomplished education leader with over 20 years of experience. She taught in London schools where she quickly progressed into leadership positions. In 2014, Kathryn moved to Dubai as a Deputy Headteacher in a British curriculum international school and was promoted to the Head of Primary at their newly opened sister school in 2016.

Kathryn has a passion for school improvement and strongly believes in making sure every child reaches their true potential. Kathryn has redesigned school curriculums so that they are creative, personalised to each individual pupil, and provide challenge for all.

Ivey Wang

Principal of Wellington College Hangzhou

Ms Ivey Wang took the role of Principal at Huili School Hangzhou within Wellington College in August 2021. Demonstrating her exceptional leadership skills, she has now been promoted to the position of Principal of Wellington College Hangzhou, effective from this September. With an impressive background encompassing more than two decades of expertise in teaching and management, Ivey has previously served as both a dedicated educator and a leadership team member at renowned international and bilingual schools in Shanghai.

Ivey obtained her degrees from distinguished institutions, namely East China Normal University and Plymouth State University. Dedicated to the integration of Chinese and Western education concepts and knowledge, Ivey is resolute in establishing a collaborative and effective team. Her focus includes advancing bilingual immersion curriculum development and providing opportunities for the holistic growth and development of pupils.
