Looking to the Future WCCH Pre-A Level Open Day

The next Open Day at Wellington College Hangzhou will be held on Wednesday, 26th June 2024. This will be an opportunity for prospective families to meet the Heads of School, interact with specialist subject teachers, and enjoy an in-depth interactive campus tour.

This event is most suitable for pupils wishing to learn more about our Pre A Level programme.

We offer the best of both worlds to our Pre A Level pupils; they will be able to gain formal internationally recognised qualifications (IGCSEs) and build a solid foundation in preparation for their A Level studies.

Pupils will study for three IGCSEs and four A Level Foundation courses, where Physics and Chemistry are compulsory. The IGCSE courses will be externally assessed and the A Level foundation courses will be internally assessed. At the same time, we value well-rounded education and the combination of IGCSE, Foundation and Complementary courses means that our pupils will be able to flourish as students and as individuals.

Life at Wellington College Hangzhou Sixth Form is certainly busy but very engaging and rewarding. Our pupils are challenged and extended to reach their potential. The opportunities are plentiful and eye-opening. The academic support and scope for personal development are second to none. Our pupils will undoubtedly graduate as worldly, well-prepared and independent lifelong learners.

We are also proud to announce that 90% of our first graduates have been accepted into the top 50 universities listed in the QS World University Rankings 2024. 60% of these have been accepted into the top 30 universities and 50%, some through scholarships, into the top 20.   

In the next 2024-2025 academic year, we welcome two new Senior Schools leaders with over 40 years of teaching experience between them. They have worked in several overseas schools and helped pupils join Red Brick universities, such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League universities, including Harvard University. We believe that with their help, Wellington College Hangzhou will have even greater academic and university admission results.
